Examples of Duties (includes but is not limited to the following):

• Supervises the Housekeeping staff, by coaching, counseling, providing guidance, correcting work, while motivating team to improve and maintain positive morale.
• Provide training and education for the Housekeeping staff, to include assisting completing performance reviews.
• Enforces standards and procedures for work of housekeeping staff.
• Plans work schedules and daily assignments to ensure adequate service, according to labor standards and occupancy
• Train, resolve problems, provide open communication and recommend discipline and/or termination when appropriate
• Assist the Executive Housekeeper in maintaining cost per occupied room under budget guidelines; assist in budget development and monitoring; maintain productivity and labor cost
• Inspects and evaluates physical condition of establishment (room quality, cleanliness, facilities) to include VIP rooms, laundry and heart of the house ensuring service standards are met
• Submit recommendations for painting, repairs, furnishings, relocation of equipment, and reallocation of space; follow up on Work Orders submitted to Engineering department
• Coordinate deep cleaning projects
• Ensures that quality services are rendered in meeting guest needs and that guest relations are enhanced.
• Compiles and reports accurate status of guest rooms to front office.
• Enforces standard procedures for the acceptance, security and return of guest lost and found items.
• Conducts inventories of linen, supplies and equipment on a monthly basis, ordering and receiving supplies so as to maintain adequate inventory levels.
• Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.
• The employee is expected to work in other areas of the hotel when needed to assist operations to perform job duties not necessarily contained in this job description.
• Maintain a safe work environment for co-workers and a safe hotel for guests; please refer to Section 7.0 in the Associate Handbook for specific examples.
• Responsible for receiving, processing and investigating complaints made per the existing harassment policy.
• Maintains strong influence within all hiring, training, performance evaluations, discipline and/or termination decisions.

Qualifications:

• 4 Year College degree preferred in Hospitality or Business field
• 3 years of experience in hotel industry, preferably Housekeeping area
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing to respond to guest requests and give direction to co-workers;
• Strong computer skills
• No special licenses or certificates required
• Able to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings, weekend and holidays.
• Maintains professionalism at all times, demonstrating courtesy and respect to guests and co-workers
• Ability to manage and resolve conflicts
• Ability to multitask
