Job Title: Laundry Attendant

Department: Housekeeping

Reports To: Executive Housekeeper

· Accountability

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

· Maintain complete knowledge and comply with all Newport Group Inc. franchise and hotel/department policies and procedures.
· Receive and sort linens according to fiber, color, and soiled condition.
· Fold and place item in appropriate storage area.
· Sort torn and stained articles.
· Sort and count articles to verify quantities on laundry requisitions.
· Soak contaminated articles and process in de-staining cycle.
· Clean lint traps and sweeps laundry room.
· Load articles into washer and add specified amount of detergent, soap or other cleaning agent by programming laundry machines.
· Operate laundry machinery such as washers, driers in accordance to safety standards.
· Start machine that automatically washes and rinses articles.
· Lift clean, wet articles from washer and places them successively into driers for measured time cycles.
· Pull linen from rooms when laundry room is caught up
· Maintain laundry room and equipment in a clean and orderly manner.
· Special Projects may be assigned by management.

Scheduling & Transportation Requirements:

· Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
· There is no minimum guarantee on the number of hours a Laundry Attendant will work per day or per week. Laundry Attendants are scheduled based on demand, season, and special events. Hours can significantly fluctuate from season to season.
· Employees are responsible for their own transportation to and from work.
