Hamlet Protein is Hiring a Control Room Operator Near Findlay, OH

$27/hr to start and $29/hr after 6mths and completion of your training. All Control Room Operators are able to move up to $32/hr with enough cross training and showing initiative!

Passing of a Mechanical Competency Test will be required to be considered for this role.

Job Objectives

Reporting directly to our Production Manager and working closely with a cross functional team, the Control Room Operator is part of a two person team that controls our entire manufacturing process, from the reception of raw material through creation of finished product.

This role is in the driver's seat for our manufacturing, using fully automated industrial control systems to monitor and adjust production. No two nights are the same, but routine tasks are listed below:

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Utilize an automated system (SCADA) to control and monitor all production operations from our Control Room with the goal of efficiency and product quality.
  • Following delivery schedules to document and receive raw material trucks.
  • Collect samples to analyze our product to ensure high quality.
  • Analysis and diagnosis of process irregularities and equipment failures.
  • Complete line cleanings and general upkeep of the production areas.
  • Tracking product irregularities, non-conformities or maintenance related issues, issuing work orders as needed.
  • Attend and lead team meetings daily and provide daily feedback to both you co-workers and our operations management team.
  • Perform general equipment inspections, visual checks and basic maintenance as needed.

Experience and Education

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in a manufacturing setting (food or feed manufacturing experience strongly preferred).
  • Experience in highly automated facilities (SCADA, PLC, HMIs, etc)
  • Experience in identifying and troubleshooting minor mechanical issues.
  • Experience and certification in forklift and scissor lifts for work performed at heights a plus.

Working Conditions

Working Hours:

Full Time; 12 hour rotating schedule. (6am-6pm / 6pm-6am alternating).

A full week off every month, and only 14 working days per month!

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, employee is regularly required to utilize electronic communication devices; employee will frequently walk, sit, stand, reach, bend, kneel, and climb(ascends and descends) and must be able to remain alert and present for extended shift work; must be able to lift 50 lbs.; maneuver mechanical aids such as forklifts, aerial lifts, pallet jack, hand truck, etc.; work in a dusty environment, work in a range of temperatures both indoors and outdoors and sometimes work in confined spaces.
