Description

As the Deputy Director of Outreach and Economic Initiatives, you will play a pivotal role in driving strategic outreach efforts and help in implementing economic initiatives aimed at fostering growth for Hamilton County. You will work closely and provide staff support for the Deputy Mayor for Economic and Community Development and the Executive Director of Economic and Community Development along with other team members to develop and execute outreach programs, forge partnerships, and spearhead economic development projects.

This is a Fair Labor Standards Act defined Exempt Position - Exempt positions are excluded from minimum wage, overtime regulations, and other rights and protections afforded nonexempt workers. The employee in this position is paid a salary rather than an hourly wage for this position. FLSA does not limit the amount of work time an employer may require or expect from any exempt employee, on any schedule. Hamilton County
Government expects an employee in this position to complete the work assigned regardless the amount of hours involved in completing the tasks assigned.

Tasks

Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the Deputy Mayor and the Director of ECD to develop long-term strategic plans for outreach and economic initiatives, aligning them with organizational objectives and priorities.
Outreach Programs: Design, implement, and oversee outreach programs to engage with diverse stakeholders including local communities, businesses, government agencies, and nonprofit organizations.
Partnership Development: Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships to enhance outreach efforts and leverage resources for economic initiatives. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to support mutual goals.
Economic Development Projects: Support the development and implementation of economic initiatives aimed at promoting growth, innovation, and entrepreneurship. This may include initiatives such as business incubation programs, workforce development initiatives, and investment attraction strategies.
Research and Analysis: Conduct research and analysis to identify emerging trends, opportunities, and challenges related to outreach and economic development. Use data-driven insights to inform decision-making and measure the impact of initiatives.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, economics, public administration, political science, or a related field and at least four (4) years of direct work experience in outreach, community engagement, economic development, or a related field with a track record of successful project management and stakeholder engagement. A valid driver’s license is also required.

At least eight (8) years of direct work experience in business administration, economics, public administration, political science, outreach, community engagement, economic development, or a related field with a track record of successful project management and stakeholder engagement. A valid driver’s license is also required.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Travel may be required for meetings, events, and site visits. This position will require some work on the weekend.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s degree in business administration, economics, public administration, political science, or a related field is preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Work requires a minimum to moderate amount of physical effort with intermittent typing, sitting, standing, walking, and driving.
