Responsible for a variety of electrical maintenance work on low voltage, 120, 130 and higher voltage such as 277 and 480, single and three-phase circuits. This position requires any combination of training and experience which indicates possession of skill and ability to perform the necessary electrical tasks.
Applicants must possess certificates of completion from a multi-year trade training program in electric systems and a journeyman license issued by the State of Ohio or a minor Civil Division thereof.
Probationary Period: 120 days
Salary Range: $26.45 - $33.85

Immediate Supervisor: Director of Building & Grounds
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Proactively address potential problem areas to reduce cost and future repairs.
Stay current with Board guidelines and policies.
Follow the District safety and regulatory compliance policy, procedures and guidelines.
Be punctual and prepared for immediate assumption of duties upon arrival at work.
Repair, replace or install outlets, sockets, switches, lights, electric motors and other basic electrical devices.
Install conduit and/or wiring, select and connect electrical devices to repair or install new equipment or circuits for any type of electrical equipment on technology.
Research parts and identify vendors using the internet as applicable.
With supervisor or alone, meet with salesman or suppliers to review available parts, supplies, fixtures. Etc.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Ability to communicate effectively, operate all applicable equipment, work effectively with others or without close supervision and prioritize tasks.
Organizational and problem solving skills.
Knowledge of standard practices, materials, tools and equipment of the electrical trade.
Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.
Considerable knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the electrical trade.
Qualifications:
Must meet District hiring requirements.
Physical strength and dexterity to perform moderately heavy manual work.
Must possess a valid Ohio driver’s license.
High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
Thorough knowledge of appropriate electric codes as these pertain to electrical wiring, fusing and devices used in the school buildings.
Any combination of training and experience which indicates possession of skill and ability to perform the above-noted electrical tasks. Must possess a certificate of completion from a multi-year trade program in electrical and a journeyman certificate issued by the State of Ohio or minor Civil Division thereof.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent and/Board of education may find necessary.
