• Production Planning and Scheduling: Develop production schedules to meet customer demand while optimizing resources and minimizing downtime. Coordinate with sales and procurement departments to align production with sales forecasts and raw material availability.
• Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate and improve manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and increase productivity. Implement lean manufacturing principles and technology upgrades where applicable.
• Quality Control: Establish and enforce quality control standards throughout the manufacturing process. Implement quality assurance procedures to ensure that products meet industry standards and customer specifications. Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and address any quality issues.
• Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and standards. Implement safety protocols and procedures to minimize workplace accidents and promote a safe working environment for all employees.
• Budgeting and Cost Control: Develop and manage budgets for manufacturing operations, including labor, materials, and overhead costs. Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to optimize spending without compromising quality or safety.
• Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods. Implement inventory control measures to prevent stockouts and minimize excess inventory.
• Equipment Maintenance and Reliability: Coordinate preventive maintenance programs for manufacturing equipment to minimize downtime and maximize uptime. Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate repairs as needed to ensure smooth operations.
• Staff Management and Development: Recruit, train, and supervise production staff. Set performance goals and provide ongoing feedback and coaching to ensure high levels of employee engagement and productivity. Identify training needs and provide opportunities for skill development and career advancement.
• Environmental Compliance: Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards related to manufacturing operations. Implement sustainability initiatives to minimize the environmental impact of production processes.
