Haltom City's library is looking for a library clerk to work part-time evenings and during the day on Saturday (there is some flexibility with the schedule). Customer service is what the library is all about.

In this role, you will stay busy interacting with other employees and people visiting the library. On a day-to-day basis, you may work at the front counter checking materials out for patrons, answering questions and creating new library cards. When not working at the front counter, you will be working throughout the library shelving and organizing and making sure the library stays as neat as possible - sometimes hard when children's programs are in progress. You may also be called upon to help librarians with programs offered throughout the year - Noon Year's Eve, weekly story time, summer reading club, escape rooms and other themed programs, just to name a few. Sometimes you will work behind the scenes processing new materials requested by library patrons, place items on hold, prepare and send out notices regarding hold materials and overdue items. You may even help the librarians with book displays or decorate the library as the seasons and programs change.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, be dependable, have basic computer skills, with experience talking to customers. Bilingual is a plus.
