Hallmark University is Hiring a Nursing Simulation Laboratory Assistant Near San Antonio, TX
Summary of the Job:
Performs duties in the Nursing simulation laboratory to support a range of simulation learning experiences for nursing students. Includes creating a simulation schedule, management of supplies and equipment, setting up and taking down low and high-fidelity learning environments, operation and care of human patient simulators, operating audiovisual equipment, providing faculty support as needed, and other administrative duties as assigned by the director of the simulation laboratory.
Essential Functions:
Communicates with all nursing faculty in a respectful manner that conveys willingness to accommodate the learning objectives established for students.
Prepares a schedule of simulation learning activities for each academic term and submits to the director of the simulation laboratory for approval.
Predicts and maintains supply inventory needed for upcoming student learning experiences.
Completes on-time laboratory skills and simulation set-ups as detailed by nursing faculty and the director of the simulation laboratory.
Completes timely takedowns of laboratory set-ups and reshelves equipment and supplies while maximizing work efficiency, organization, and inventorying processes.
Maintains all simulation equipment and mannequins, including cleaning, securing, installing updates, performing basic maintenance, and coordinating vendor major maintenance.
Competently uses all operating systems for mannequins, troubleshoots all mannequin failures, and communicates operating difficulties with respective vendor technical support staff.
Communicates with Hallmark Information Technology support for all operational issues with audiovisual simulation recording system and local intranet or internet connectivity issues.
Provides faculty instruction on the use of simulators, equipment, other technology, and remains available to provide additional assistance as needed.
Adheres to laboratory safety standards set by the simulation director including needle safety, simulation medication safety, and psychological safety.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Excellent communication and people skills
Knowledge of Nursing lab equipment/simulation lab equipment
Exceptional organizational skills
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Aptitude in resolving conflicts and issues.
Qualifications and Experience:
One year experience working in a health-care related field.
Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant preferred.
Technical aptitude to operate interactive computer software a must.
