Mid-sized Orange County law firm seeks experienced civil litigation paralegal.
Summary Job Description:
- Assist in the preparation and trial of lawsuits by organizing case documents
- Coordinate pre-trial proceedings
- Participate in discovery activities
- Drafting and preparing motions, pleadings, and subpoenas
- Obtaining witnesses (i.e. medical experts, etc.) and other related duties
- Summarizing discovery and various records
Job Responsibilities Include:
- Investigate and coordinate process service
- Prepare and coordinate service of subpoenas for witness and custodians of record.
- Review client documents for privilege and coordinate production
- Coordinate with clients and experts re: case
- Draft correspondence, discovery and basic pleadings
- Assist in preparing attorneys for depositions, mediations, and trial
- Perform legal research
Qualifications:
- 3 years of paralegal experience
- BA/BS and/or Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved paralegal program
- Strong computer proficiency, including with MS Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel) and Adobe Acrobat
- Solid organizational and time management skills with high attention to detail
- Great written and verbal communication skills supporting excellent customer service skills
- Personal Injury/Insurance Defense experience, a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
