We are seeking an experienced Environmental Project Manager to serve our West Coast Business Unit projects and clients. This position is based out of our Walnut Creek, CA (Bay Area) office location. We look for professionals with a passion for solving even the most complex client problems. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will:
- Serve as a key member of the environmental group with the ability to step in and immediately managing Bay Area projects.
- Work collaboratively with a passionate team supporting a wide variety of clients with numerous challenging projects.
- Understand client needs and be able to develop strong client relationships.
- Be capable of managing financial and technical aspects of projects.
- Execute projects to meet technical, quality, budgetary and scheduling requirements.
- Demonstrate very strong verbal communications and written skills including client deliverables.
- Be effective in assigning and managing work.
- Demonstrate strong coaching and mentoring skills to more junior level staff.
- Possess skills in quality control, planning, cost estimating, and scheduling.
- Direct environmental field observation and testing programs.
- Be able to effectively prepare recommendations for various remediation projects.
- Develop a working understanding of H&A’s other consulting practice areas and actively support marketing other services to existing clients.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of Bachelor of Science in Civil/Environmental Engineering or Geology
- Minimum 5-7 years of relevant Bay Area (CA) environmental regulations experience, environmental investigation Phase 1 & 2 site assessment, understand remediation technologies, and site characterization environmental engineering construction support experience, including professional services consulting experience.
- Have CA professional registration PE/PG – or can get it within 6 months of hire.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be proficient at writing, review, and editing technical reports to meet scope and quality objectives and client expectations.
- Ability to comply with the Guiding Principles and Code of Behavior articulated in our Company Handbook.

Actual compensation will be based upon a variety of factors such as education, related work experience, certificates, skills, and current market conditions.
