Hain Celestial Group is Hiring a Remote Analyst, Demand Planning

Location: remote with requirement to travel for business needs

Overview/Purpose:

The Analyst, Demand Planning is responsible for successfully developing and recommending a multiple-input demand plan through the management of collaborative relationships with the sales, trade marketing, commercial, customer relations and brand teams. Works cross functionally to extract patterns and key findings from customer behaviors and market analysis for use in statistical demand modeling and recommends a plan that delivers upon key revenue and operating income targets. Has ultimate responsibility for the ongoing maintenance and continuous improvement of both the aggregate and detailed demand plan for specific business units and or specific product/customer groupings. This role will work closely with Sales and Operations Planning functions by providing demand level insights to drive production, inventory deployment, and customer service decisions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with the sales, trade marketing, commercial, customer relations and brand teams to ensure that they've reached consensus upon a demand plan based solely on what they're planning to sell. Communicate with each person regarding future promotional activity and any other notable movement in sales planning and/or execution. Monitor sales related communications, ask questions and appropriately enter promotional activities into the demand planning system.
  • Update and maintain the demand plan with future demand.
  • Become trained and fluent with the Demand Planning software, Blue Yonder, including the variations and methods that can be used to produce an accurate statistical forecast.
  • Analyze new items and determine the impact to the demand plan. This would encompass any product life cycle management, including product phase outs.
  • Collaborate as needed with product supply managers to navigate changes via demand control events.
  • Develop and manage customer specific demand. (ß what is meant by “develop” customer specific demand?)
  • Monitor the flow of customer specific demand plans through the planning process and enterprise software tools and provide item specific input into the monthly S&OP process.
  • Leverage demand exception tools and planning skills to proactively identify and resolve demand control issues. Communicates business insights, and data analysis.
  • Measure, report, and drive improvement of key performance indicators such as Forecast Accuracy and Forecast Bias to achieve best-in-class performance.
  • Represent the unconstrained demand to the rest of the organization by acting as process leader of the Demand Review as part of the S&OP process.
  • Lead collaborative process improvement efforts that directly impact the demand plan.
  • Support successful Product Life Cycle Management and Stage-Gate process.
  • Updates and maintains the Demand Forecast System, including forecast algorithm model selection, forecast parameters, systems tables, settings, and calendars.
  • Updates and maintains forecast and system settings in the Demand Forecast System.
Requirements:

Requirements: (Skills/Knowledge/Abilities)

  • Excellent analytical capabilities, business savvy and leadership skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and reasoning skills. Translate abstract findings in research and data into actionable insights using clear visual and written communication.
  • Understanding of go to market strategies and sales strategies.
  • Thoughtful influence in a matrixed organization, be a strong collaborator and communicator, with experience presenting across varied functions and levels.
  • 2-4 years of product planning, demand planning, forecasting; algorithm modeling experience is preferred.
  • Ability to think strategically and execute tactically, a persistent attention to detail, and a high level of comfort in working with numbers (Excel, MS Access, Date Base Management)
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing statistical data, managing forecast algorithm parameters, and generating short and long-term forecast models. Highly proficient and experienced with advanced Demand Planning Software, Business Objects, Power BI, Tableau, Access, and advanced Excel skills.
  • Knowledge of end-to-end supply chain inventory flows, including retail inventory management and seasonal strategies
  • MBA, BA or BS degree in Business, Econ, Supply chain management, or related field from an accredited university.
  • Preferred knowledge of the Consumer Product Goods industry
  • APICS or IBP certification a plus

Hours and Travel:

  • Hours of operation: 9:00am to 5:00pm EST
  • Travel required: as needed, less than 10%
