The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist will be responsible for maintaining the organization's compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations. Your responsibility will be to develop, implement, and maintain safety programs, conduct risk assessments, provide training to employees, and conduct regular checks and maintenance of fire suppression systems to mitigate potential risks. This position requires a strong commitment to creating a safe and healthy work environment. Position Environmental Health and Safety Specialist Location USA, Elkhart IN How You'll Create Possibilities Create and maintain EHS related documents including, Lockout/Tagout procedures, job safety analysis, risk assessments, written programs, and training materials. Conduct regular fire extinguisher inspections, tests, and maintenance of fire suppression systems to ensure effective functioning. Collaborate with external vendors for scheduled inspections and repairs. Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards in the workplace. Complete regulatory and internally required EHS inspections and audits. Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees at all levels. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes. Develop and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Review contractor's safe work plans and conduct periodic audits of contractors while they are working on the site. Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures. Conduct drills and training to ensure effective response in case of emergencies. Respond to questions and/or concerns received from internal and external stakeholders. Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, inspections, and training sessions. Ensure that PPE is available where required and PPE is properly utilized. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate safety measures into daily operations. Work with management to address safety concerns and implement improvements What You'll Bring to Our Team 1 year of relevant EHS related work experience. Associate degree or pursuing a BS or BA degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science or related discipline. Experience in a manufacturing environment or research and development labs. Advanced computer skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and training facilitation abilities. Maintenance background preferred.
