Job Summary: The Security and Light Maintenance Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of a shopping center while also performing light maintenance duties. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle various tasks efficiently. The officer will monitor the premises, respond to incidents, and address minor maintenance & cleaning issues promptly to maintain a pleasant and secure environment for shoppers, tenants, and staff.

Responsibilities:

Security Duties: Conduct regular patrols of the shopping center premises to deter and detect any suspicious activities.
Monitor CCTV cameras and alarm systems to ensure a safe and secure environment.
Respond promptly to incidents, emergencies, and alarms, taking appropriate action as necessary.
Implement and enforce shopping center policies and procedures to maintain security standards.
Provide a visible presence, interact with shoppers and tenants, and address any concerns or inquiries.
Collaborate with local law enforcement agencies and emergency services as needed.

Light Maintenance Duties: Perform routine inspections of the shopping center to identify and address any maintenance issues.
Conduct basic repairs and maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs, fixing minor plumbing issues, and repairing door locks.
Ensure that all public areas, including entrances, parking lots, and common spaces, are clean and well-maintained. Empty trash containers throughout the property. Operate a sweeper truck.
Coordinate with property manager for more extensive maintenance or repair work.

Reporting and Documentation: Document all incidents, accidents, or security-related activities in detailed reports.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment inspections.
Provide timely and accurate reports to the management regarding any security concerns, incidents, or maintenance issues.

Safety and Compliance: Promote and adhere to health and safety guidelines, ensuring a safe environment for shoppers, tenants, and staff.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in security or maintenance-related fields are a plus.
• Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical, and general repairs.
• Familiarity with CCTV systems, alarm systems, and other security equipment.
• Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Physical fitness and the ability to stand, walk, and perform light physical tasks for extended periods.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
