JOB SUMMARY:

The Heavy Maintenance Powerplant Specialist will be responsible for performing maintenance on commercial aircraft engines in the field and in the shop including, coordinating all engine work in the heavy maintenance department. The position will support as rover/floater to support maintenance teams and engines in work. Efficient, safe, productive, and high-quality work is required and a high priority for the position and the HMX team. Engine stand maintenance and engine preservations will also be required. Global travel on short notice is a requirement, and this includes after-hours, weekends, and holidays. (Other duties may be assigned)

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

·Help with complicated maintenance procedures, including coordinating technicians and work in progress.

·Assists in coordinating technicians, parts, tools, paperwork, and equipment to facilitate work scopes and inspections to meet expectations.

·Meet deadlines and turn times set by customers and operations.

·Simultaneously provide support to multiple technicians and engines in work.

·Act as an inspector and technician to support engines in the HMX department.

·Perform heavy maintenance on GE, CFM, and PW turbine engines worldwide to the highest quality standards.

·Gain knowledge on GES quality procedures per the Repair Station & Quality Manual (RSQM), including the FAA/EASA Part 145 regulations, requirements, and procedures.

·Act in accordance with and meet the requirements of the RSQM, other applicable regulations, and company policies.

·Provide excellent customer service when interacting with customers in the shop or field.

·Have a positive attitude, promote the business to internal and external customers, co-workers, or potential employees.

·Read and interpret and understand OEM technical data, maintenance manuals, service bulletins, FAA Airworthiness Directives, and other specifications to determine the maintenance procedure, method of repairing and/or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.

·Familiar with aircraft maintenance manuals (AMM) for multiple aircraft and engine configurations.

·Remove, install and repair aircraft engines, parts, fan blades, engine mounts, and other items as required.

·Perform accessory inventories and other inspections as needed.

·Effectively utilize Quantum Control and JETRAXX systems within 30 days.

·Approach work with the “can-do” spirit and attitude.

·Professionally interact with customers and provide excellent customer service when interfacing with customers in the shop or field.

·Properly use torque wrenches, calibrated tools, and special tooling as required.

·Meet GES quality department inspector requirements and gain the ability to return to service on qualified jobs.

·Operate borescope equipment efficiently.

·Lead multiple jobs and workscopes such as top case, bottom case, fan containment case, HPT blade R&R, NGV R&R, and mini overhauls and sign off 8130’s as required.

SECONDARY DUTIES:

·Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.

·Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

MINIMUM:

·High School diploma or equivalent.

·FAA Airframe and Power Plant Certificate (A&P)

·7 years of OEM heavy maintenance commercial turbine aircraft engine experience.

·GE90, CF34, CFM56, LEAP, V2500, PW1000/1500G, PW2000/4000, RB211, and Trent heavy engine experience desired.

·Heavy maintenance experience on TAY, SPEY, PW300, JT15, PT6, PW100, and PW200 a plus.

·10 years of experience with heavy maintenance repairs, AD/SB compliance, engine “C” checks, LRU, and external component R&R, BSI, and inspections on all models.

·Intermediate to advanced user of Adobe DC & Microsoft Office Programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

·Read, write and understand the English language.

·Ability to obtain a US Passport.

·Class C driver’s license.

ACCOUNTABILIEIS:

Accountable to the Heavy Maintenance Manager.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

·Must be able to lift 85 lbs. unassisted.

·May be exposed to loud noise.

·Able to bend, stoop, kneel and stand for prolonged periods, climb  
· Reach/handle items, work with fingers and perceives attributes of object and materials.

·May need to work outside as necessary.

·Must be enrolled in the DOT-approved random drug and alcohol testing program.

·Normal or corrected hearing.

·May need to work in hot or cold weather conditions.

·Visual Acuity must be a minimum of 20/40 corrected and must be able to distinguish color.
