We are seeking a skilled and experienced Chief Residential Estimator to join our team. The Chief Residential Estimator will be responsible for providing accurate and timely cost estimates for residential construction projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in estimating and a deep understanding of residential construction processes. The Chief Residential Estimator will play a critical role in ensuring the profitability and success of our residential projects.
Responsibilities

  • Analyze and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for residential projects.
  • Collaborate with the project management team to understand project requirements and develop comprehensive estimates.
  • Conduct on-site visits to assess project requirements, identify potential challenges, and gather relevant data for the estimation process.
  • Utilize estimating software and other tools to prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates.
  • Evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids and negotiate pricing to ensure competitiveness and accuracy.
  • Prepare and present cost estimates to management, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Monitor and track project costs throughout the construction process and provide regular updates to the project management team.
  • Conduct cost analysis and value engineering to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, material costs, and construction methods to ensure accurate and up-to-date estimates.
  • Mentor and guide junior estimators to support their professional development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience as an estimator in residential construction projects.
  • Deep understanding of residential construction processes, materials, and methods.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and other project documentation.
  • Experience using construction estimating software and other relevant tools.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Leadership skills and the ability to mentor and guide junior estimators.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional certification (e.g., Certified Professional Estimator, Certified Construction Manager).
  • Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Familiarity with local building codes and regulations.
