Hackensack Radiology Group PA is Hiring a Staff Nurse Near Oradell, NJ

Description: Assess patients prior and current health, screen patients, make determination for pre-medication protocol.
Proficient in IV insertion/ VADs.
Proficient in blood specimen collection.
Administer and oversee intravenous injections of contrast media and other medications (IV and PO) as needed.
Assist Radiologist, Anesthesiologist and or Cardiologist as needed during various procedures.
Management of acute reactions (adult and pediatric).
Monitor patients.
Give and explain discharge instructions.
Requirements: Ability to perform non-routine tasks which require analytical ability and judgment for emergency situations, manage stressful conditions and situations effectively. Adapt to changing work environments related to changing needs of patients with acute, chronic and complex and/or terminal disease processes. This requires analysis of each situation and the ability to act accordingly when modifying procedures without compromising techniques or patient care.
Must maintain current /valid State of New Jersey license, CPR, ACLS/PALS certifications and complete annual training as required including OSHA, Blood-borne Pathogen Category I, HIPAA and other categories as requested.
Maintain good working relationships and communication with internal staff, patients, physicians, and other medical office staff.
Maintain accuracy in the performance of duties including recording of ones own attendance.
Knowledge of all equipment necessary to perform job functions.
As demands of patients, physicians and the general environment change, other duties, as circumstances require, may be assigned.
Positions requirements necessitate a full range of motion including but not limited to, physically assisting patients, requiring stretching, ending, lifting, sitting, kneeling, standing, walking, pushing and pulling. Position is classified according to the USDOL as very heavy work which is defined as exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. The National Institute of Safety and Health (NIOSHO) guidelines which recommend that the average worker not lift more than 51 pounds without assistance will be followed.
Manual and finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination are also required as is constant talking and listening in English. Must demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills, including speech clarity, understanding the information relayed, deductive and inductive reasoning skills ( the ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense and the ability to combine pieces of information to/from general rules or conclusion respectively).
The R.N. must have the ability to work cooperatively within the health system, and multidisciplinary team members (i.e. MDs, front desk, scheduling, and technologists). The ability to utilize effective time management skills to set priorities to perform responsibilities, problem solve and deliver care.
