Under the direct supervision of the in-house obstetrician on call, the Physician Assistant (PA) manages Obstetric and Gynecological patient consults, admissions, discharges, rounds (both obstetrics and gynecology), triages, performs consults in Emergency Department and medical Surgical Floors. The PA will also assist in the operating room as needed, primarily for Obstetrics cases, but also in Gynecology cases.
This is a shift position (day/night) working the equivalent of 12-13 shifts of 12-hrs each per month, as assigned by the medical director or his/her representative. This position includes working weekends and holidays on a rotation schedule.

Qualifications:
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: 1. Successful completion of an approved Physician¿s Assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission for Physician Assistants Education, Licenses and Certifications Required: 1. Physician Assistant License. 2. Controlled Dangerous Substances Physician Certification. 3. AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification. 4. Drug Enforcement Agency Certificate. 5. Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification. 6. Certification by the National Commission for Certified Physician 's Assistants (NCCPA) within one year of initial employment by the Medical Center.
