1. Performs duties related to patient care as directed by therapist which can include: safe transfers and guarding techniques utilizing cues and assistance, obtaining vital signs, preparation of treatment area, obtaining equipment needed, and set up of driver training cars. Leads individual or group exercise activities for clients in wellness/maintenance programs including first session assessments and determines exercise prescription, implements and oversees exercise prescription and progression, observes participants during exercise for signs of stress; reports results of exercise sessions. Accurate and timely clinical documentation on but not limited to individual or group activities for clients in wellness/maintenance programs.
2. Cleans treatment areas and equipment utilizing appropriate agents. Maintains treatment and storage areas in a neat and organized manner. Maintains linen supply and launders clinic items regularly. Maintains inventory of clinic supplies and provides information to the supervisor for ordering. Removes unsafe equipment from operational use and notifies the supervisor.
3. Eliminates safety hazards; report housekeeping issues promptly; clear towels from locker rooms as needed; demonstrate correct use of exercise equipment and participate in regular equipment safety checks as requested as well as order material and supplies and calibrate equipment; clean equipment as scheduled; follow appropriate procedures for close-out as well as opening and closing the department.
4. Answer phone using department scripting; prepare exercise charts for new clients as assigned; collect payments according to department policies and procedures; assist with staffing and preparing weekly schedules; assist with marketing activities to promote new business; work with management to promote health and wellness in and out of the organization.
5. Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
6. Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
1. Graduate of an accredited program with a degree in exercise physiology.
2. Minimum one year of experience in a clinical medical environment.
3. Computer knowledge: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
4. Knowledge in use with exercise equipment.
1. Previous experience working in a fitness environment or with individuals with disabilities.
2. Experience working in cardiac and pulmonary fields.
1. AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.
1. Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification.
