Hachette Book Group is Hiring a Summer 2024 Digital Marketing Intern, Workman Imprints Near New York, NY

Hachette Book Group's summer internship program offers those interested in our work and the lifecycle of a book, and a opportunity to learn about the publishing industry and explore an area of interest. Program dates: June 3rd - August 9th (10 weeks)
HYBRID: Position is on a hybrid schedule-Mondays and Tuesdays work from home, Wednesdays and Thursdays in our Midtown NYC office. Company laptop will be provided for the duration of the program.
Weekly schedule: 28 hours per week, Monday-Thursday, 9:00am-5:00pm, with a one-hour lunch break
Pay rate: $16/hour
Position open to all; no current enrollment or degree required.
About the role:
This position will support and learn from the Digital Marketing team for the Workman, Workman Kids, Algonquin Young Readers, Artisan, and Workman Calendars imprints, allowing insight into a variety of industry niches, responsibilities, and experiences.
As an HBG Digital Marketing Intern for our imprints, you will have the opportunity to work closely with seasoned professionals and gain hands-on professional experience as you own day-to-day tasks, help with special projects, and attend departmental meetings.
To enhance your work experience, we offer educational sessions featuring speakers from all departments of the company as well as networking and career development opportunities.
Qualifications:
  • Interest in digital marketing with an emphasis on email marketing, digital advertising, and light digital asset creation and design
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under deadlines
  • Ability to learn new software programs
  • The ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time effectively while also maintaining accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment
  • An excitement for participating in and contributing to a fun, vibrant work environment with great company culture
  • Familiarity with digital tools such as Microsoft Office Suite, WordPress, and Canva a plus
  • Experience with basic HTML and/or common ESPs like Mailchimp, Braze a huge plus (internships count!)
Responsibilities include:
  • Assist with newsletter campaigns, including copywriting, builds, and ideation.
  • Assist with content creation for paid social campaigns and other related projects..
  • Assist in building online stores for ecommerce promotions.
  • Assist in monthly reporting for Digital Marketing.
  • Attend department meetings and actively contribute ideas.
