Habitat for Humanity of Southeast Ohio is Hiring a Director of Volunteer Services Near Lancaster, OH

Summary:

The Director of Volunteer Services will develop, implement, and manage the volunteer programs for Habitat for Humanity of Southeast Ohio, and manage the organization’s communication strategy and tools. Primary responsibilities include the recruitment, scheduling, and coordination of work groups (Collegiate Challenge/Care-A-Vanners), individual volunteers, local groups, and youth for all volunteer positions within the organization. Position will monitor program effectiveness and make improvements. Communication includes, but is not limited to, design and posting of social media items, editing the website, and providing feedback and assistance to other staff in the design of marketing materials.

Principal Areas of Responsibility - Volunteers: (70% of time requirement)

Volunteer Recruitment

· Recruit volunteers for all areas of the organization

· Produce written informational/educational material for volunteer outreach

· Respond to all volunteer inquiries

· Interview and place volunteers for specific duties

· Prepare Volunteer Job Descriptions

· Represent Habitat for Humanity in the community through presentations and outreach within the community to recruit and retain more volunteers to help build homes for families in need

Volunteer Coordination

· Coordinate Corporate Sponsor volunteer days

· Facilitate post volunteer experience program & survey

· Schedule volunteers for construction site/other volunteer needs

· Maintain volunteer database

Special Events

· Oversee the planning and implementation of construction special events (blitz builds, sponsor build days, theme days, etc…)

General

· Participate and represent the affiliate at relevant community events and meetings.

· Maintain Volunteer Manual.

· Ensure liability waivers are signed.

· Perform other tasks as assigned by the Executive Director

Principal Areas of Responsibility - Communication: (20% of time requirement)

Social Media

· Design and make posts to social media including images, videos, and other media

· Responsible for managing messaging from social media account

· Make updates to website as needed

Marketing Tools

· Responsible for building and maintaining photo catalog for Habitat projects

· Collect and store organizational marketing materials and materials provided by Habitat for Humanity International

Design

· Design certain marketing tools to advance message of organization

· Provide feedback to other staff when necessary

Other Areas of Responsibility (10% of time requirement) (Volunteer Recognition, Teamwork, Partnership)

· Plan and coordinate Annual or Semi-Annual Volunteer Events, as well as ensuring all volunteer recognition/acknowledgement is meted out

· Assist the Executive Director in giving thanks to and following up with volunteers to assess their volunteer experience and ensure long-term retention of volunteers within program

· Data entry & management of database.

· Answer phones as needed

· Other duties as assigned

Position Qualifications:

Demonstrated fundraising, sales or volunteer coordination success a plus

Enthusiastic self-starter able to perform with minimal supervision

Ability to manage multiple priorities

Effective leadership and team building skills

Good supervisory skills

Ability to work with many diverse groups

Integrity, organization and attention to detail; as well as, ability to work independently and multi-task.

Team Player

Some evening and weekend work required

Excellent Computer Skills

Clean Driving Record & Ability to Be Insured on Organization's Auto Policy

Habitat for Humanity of Southeast Ohio provides a generous benefit package which includes paid holidays, paid time off, IRA match, and an ICHRA healthcare plan option. Employee will have option to work out of our Millfield, Lancaster or Zanesville office location, however, position will require travel to all 8 counties in the service area.
