Description

Are you a payroll management expert seeking a dynamic opportunity with flexibility? H2 Health is looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team. This role offers the perfect blend of challenge and flexibility.

Position: Payroll Specialist

Location: Jacksonville, FL (Hybrid/Remote Options Available)

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of multi-state payroll experience, preferably in healthcare.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills and the ability to detect data inconsistencies.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and integrity with sensitive information.
  • Experience with Paylocity is a plus!

Responsibilities:

  • Process biweekly multi-state payroll in a timely manner and ensure the accuracy of HR/Payroll System data.
  • Follow standard procedures, input, and audit all employee changes.
  • Review employee time records and receive proper management authorization for payment processing.
  • Prepare and process semi-monthly multi-state payroll, maintain and audit employee data, and process employee changes timely and accurately.
  • Prepare off-cycle payments as required and ensure accuracy and prompt delivery in accordance with company policy.
  • Ensure employee time records are accurate to avoid payment discrepancies and other errors.
  • Ensure state and local tax setup is accurate for each employee.
  • Setup new tax withholding for new state and local jurisdictions.
  • Develop ad hoc reports and analyze data to ensure records are accurate and comply with company policy.
  • Partner with the Human Resources team to maintain compliance with company policy.
  • Reconcile payroll funding amounts and prepare Payroll Funding Requests to ensure timely funding of the semi-monthly payroll.
  • Reconcile payroll hours and earnings to ensure the accuracy of the payroll.
  • Provide payroll reports to the accounting and treasury departments for bank account reconciliation and GL updating.
  • Prepare funding requests to ensure timely remittance of the participant and company contributions.
  • Respond to employee inquiries, identify potential issues and research problems, determine root causes, and take corrective actions to ensure accurate payroll and high customer satisfaction.
  • Review and respond to regulatory agency inquiries such as tax agency report requests, third party garnishments, employment verifications, etc.
  • Ensure the company’s payroll processes and procedures comply with all applicable regulations.
