*This position has the flexibility to be hybrid or remote and will report to our La Porte, IN or Indianapolis, IN office*

 Requirements:

• Responsible for the development of highway and interstate bridge design projects for INDOT (and other DOT clients) in accordance with state and local agency requirements.
• Direct and/or perform structural engineering calculations from preliminary to final design.
• Direct and/or develop plans, specifications, reports, and cost estimates (PS&E).
• Coordinate with project staff, other disciplines and sub-consultants, Department, and reviewers to ensure accuracy and quality of work.
• Manage and maintain project documentation, including meeting project schedules, budgets, and scope
• Attends on-site and off-site client meetings throughout Indiana

Qualifications:

• BSCE is required, MSCE is a plus
• Indiana PE or ability to obtain one within 6 months is required
• Must be in Indiana or willing to relocate within 6 months
• 6 years of DOT bridge design experience with preventative maintenance, rehabilitation and reconstruction of existing steel and concrete bridges and plan preparation is required.
• Proficient in structural drafting and industry design software accepted by INDOT is required including Microstation, LARSA 4D, CSI Bridge or other 3D FEM structural modeling software
• Able to prepare or assist in the preparation and maintenance of client reporting such as status reports and other writing or verbal communications to the client

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The physical requirements must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, stoop, crawl, and lifting. The employee must frequently lift and/or move light equipment up to 50 pounds. Must be alert to equipment in the field, occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery, occasional need to walk on uneven ground, exposure to dust, gas or fumes, exposure to noise, extremes in temperature or humidity, and potential work at heights.
