Summary:
A Robotic Operator III has an advanced understanding of the controls and operations of the robot pendent. They will have the ability to efficiently perform fixture changeovers including calling up the proper programs, verify weld locations and quality, and making adjustments to the weld programs as required.
Principle Duties and Areas of Responsibility:
Closely monitor parts to determine accuracy and quality
Notify material handling or management prior to completing a job allowing for seamless changeovers
Prepares welded parts for paint or other coatings by removing slag and other cosmetic blemishes
Work in a safe manner and report unsafe conditions to supervisor
Perform maintenance of robot and fixtures
Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follows prescribed safety procedures
Adheres to company quality protocols and processes
Perform job duties in an ethical, professional manner which is consistent with the H&S handbook
Performs other related duties as assigned by management
Perform duties with safety first quality mind set
Skills and Abilities:
Track use of consumables and report to appropriate person as needed
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Has a good understanding of weld quality and has the ability to adjust welds as required to achieve such welds
Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
Properly consistently load parts into fixtures to insure proper robot operation and quality parts are being produced
Ability to properly start up or shut down the robot cell
Experience with Fanuc or Panasonic preferred
The ability to use the pendent move the robotic arm to do simple tasks such as change tips, move to next point after a burn back or collision,
Ability to efficiently perform changeovers and insure proper welding is being done by the robot
Qualifications:
At least one year work experience
Must meet the skills, abilities, and qualifications for a Welder II
Strong math skills
Attention to detail
Safety minded with a basic understanding of robotics and/or automation
Advanced understanding of programs and the ability to modify programs to insure quality parts are being produced
