Provides direct supervision and support in the areas of team leadership, project management and achievement of The Tax Institute (TTI) and department goals and objectives. Coordinates and leads team projects, forecasts work volume, identifies potential opportunities for process and systems improvement, and assists the director in defining the strategic goals of the team and department. Develop clear, strategic goals for Tax Institute teams under their leadership to drive strong business performance, aligned with strategy, and elevate the impact of all TTI services and workstreams.
Ability to direct, motivate and empower others to work towards team, departmental and enterprise goals.
Get up to speed quickly on the business model, priorities and strategies of each key internal business unit and develop plans to proactively enable and defend all relevant products and services for that unit from state or federal agency encroachment.
Lead the organization and management of key Tax Institute functions/teams (including tax research, content development and forms procurement). Provide active coaching, mentoring and knowledge-sharing with team members to advance their career development and manage and review their work product.
Identify process improvement opportunities and significantly contribute to innovation through implementation of enhancements to TTI’s processes that elevate outcomes and/or bring an additional level of efficiency.
Stay informed of new and proposed federal, state and local tax laws and their impact on our business and industry. Provides written and verbal updates, as needed, on any identified new developments in tax law, including legislative changes, court decisions, and administrative guidance.
Act as a department and company ambassador at all times, reflecting the unique and positive culture of H&R Block in all communications, discussions and during all events.
