Position Title: Civil / Structural – Senior Engineer

Reports to: Civil / Structural Department Manager

Position Status: Permanent – Full Time

FLSA Status: Exempt STOT

Location: Pasadena, TX (Hybrid Schedule)

Work Schedule: Standard schedule is Monday through Friday.

Purpose: The Civil/Structural Engineer provides structural and foundation design, technical analysis, and/or resolution of engineering and design problems. Gives direction and coordination of structural and civil designs for industrial projects in Refining, Petro-Chemical, and Chemical facilities.

Core Job Responsibilities

• Prepare structural and foundation designs for industrial projects.
• Design of heavy equipment foundations for industrial projects.
• Design pipe racks, pipe supports, access platforms, pump foundations and vessel foundations.
• Manage the cost and time constraints of multiple projects at one time.
• Prepare and maintain all safety and environmental aspects of a project.
• Work within company policy as outlined in the H M Employee Handbook as well as the H M Safety Manual, H M Work Processes, and OSHA Safety rules.
• Ability to execute designs using structural design software (RISA Products, calculation spreadsheets, Hilti Profis, AutoCAD, CaDWorx)

Essential Skills & Qualifications

• Six plus years of in-depth experience in Civil / Structural engineering design and construction within the industrial and petrochemical industries.
• Current Texas Professional Engineer License or desire and ability to obtain within one year.
• Expert mastery with current industrial codes (ASCE, AISC, ACI, IBC, PIP).
• Competent proficiency with utilizing laser scans in facility design.
• Competent proficiency in AutoCAD
• Demonstrated problem solving skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and capable of establishing respect and credibility through actions, communications, understanding and personal presence
• Ability to work with others to achieve job goals
• Expert mastery with structural engineering analysis and design using structural modeling software (RISA products, Hilti Profis).

Physical Requirements

• Occasionally lift objects weighing up to twenty-five pounds
• Sit for long periods of time
• Occasionally stoop, kneel or crouch
• Use hands and arms to reach for, grasp and manipulate objects

Environment:Remote and onsite work. Visits to job sites may be required on occasion as needed.
