JOB SUMMARY: Develops moderate to complex manufacturing plans and work instructions to support assemblies, detail fabrication, procurement and processing of tools, components and end items in support of contractual and regulatory delivery requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follows department/organization processes for developing, implementing and maintaining various manufacturing plans, Bills of Material, work instructions and illustrations to define and document as-built configuration ensuring customer and regulatory requirements are met.
  • Reviews and interprets customer specifications, blue prints and other related technical specifications to ensure requirements are translated to work product.
  • Supports more senior personnel and teams in the development and study of manufacturing concepts and strategies to support business objectives.
  • Completes specifications and requirements for procured commodities to ensure manufacturing requirements are met.
  • Develops moderate to complex tooling requirements and supports tooling development efforts for major end items based on manufacturing and engineering requirements.
  • Troubleshoots manufacturing and planning related issues building team consensus.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function and assigned duty satisfactorily.   • Associate degree or higher in related discipline desired but minimum of 8 years experience working in an aircraft technical environment may be substituted for education.
  • Minimum of 4 years previous experience in manufacturing environment required.
  • Aircraft structures experience required.
  • Ability to read and understand blue prints required.
  • Ability to apply basic math, including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to communicate verbally in one-on-one situations with management and co-workers; listen to others without interrupting and get clarification when needed.
  • Proficient knowledge of and be able to operate the software and equipment used in the department. Software includes but is not limited to MS Word, Excel and Power Point. Computer skills must include ability to type and manage files.
  • Ability to identify proper materials and supplies according to specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and focus on quality and accuracy.
  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident (ITAR requirement)
