'Partner-owned' means our most important resources--People--drive the innovation, growth, and success that makes H-E-B The Greatest Retailing Company.Do you have a:HEART FOR PEOPLE... desire to produce designs that exceed customer expectations?HEAD FOR BUSINESS... subject matter expertise in design and compliance?PASSION FOR RESULTS... ability to influence internal and external stakeholders?We are looking for:- a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering- 3 years of electrical engineering experienceWhat is the work?Engineering:- Researches / analyzes design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of design- Works with Construction team to resolve outstanding issues; recommends best to fix or remove issue- Performs field inspections to review construction work for conformance with design drawings, applicable codes, and company policies- Ensures work is done to meet all applicable codes in accordance with international and local regulatory requirements- Participates in an information sharing forum with H-E-B consulting engineers- Serves as subject matter expert to ensure H-E-B compliance with legal guidelines and safety and environmental requirements- Contributes to decisions related to H-E-B strategic objectives, program standards, and budget planning- Interacts with city governments and architectural review boards regarding regulation / code compliance. Manages electrical design standards to include lighting, power, communication and fire alarm systems-Checks construction documents for completeness/correctness. Implements H-E-B sustainability standards, including coordination of LEED submittals and communication to others- Directs efforts to establish / implement maintenance standards- Works with consulting engineers; assists design architects with questions / concepts- Provides technical assistance to contractors- Shares technical expertise with other PartnersProject Management:- Manages projects from conception through completion, while effectively communicating with consultants; manages overall timelines and milestones for multiple projects- Performs code research and assessment, including IBC, NEC and NFPA72.- Makes project site visits; recognizes, documents, resolves design issues for compliance with design intent and the construction documents- Serves as an expert; provides direction and strategic guidance to design development and process improvements- Provides outstanding customer service that delivers solutions to meet or exceed customer expectations relative to design, image, productivity, and quality- Develops clear work plans, processes, and action steps that support H-E-B's overall strategies and achieve results- Identifies / recommends systems, materials, and solutions that deliver creative low-cost solutions to minimize a project's cost of occupancy- Mentors / guides team members; provides leadership and expertise to cross-functional teams- Interacts with multiple entities, including city governments and architectural review boards regarding regulation / code complianceWhat is your background?- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field- 3 years of experience in retail engineering - Professional engineer's license in the state of Texas (preferred)Do you have what it takes to be a fit as an H-E-B Engineer?- Advanced knowledge of building systems and their coordination / integration (structural, architectural, MEPR) and building codes- Computer application / software skills, including AutoCAD, Revit, MS Office- Ability to manage multiple priorities and shift focus between projects- Ability to use 2D / 3D presentation graphics-Ability to present to groups utilizing PowerPoint- Ability to demonstrate flexibility, adaptability, and collaborative work style in a fast-paced retail environmentCan you...- Function in a fast-paced retail environment- Travel by car or plane with overnight stays- Work extended hours07-2018
