Description

Job Function / Purpose

Gyrodata is a privately held oil service company based in Houston, Texas. The Company was founded in 1980 and incorporated in 1983 to adapt advanced, aerospace guidance technology for applications in wellbore surveying for the oil and gas industry, which is our main product line.

Our highly accurate, wellbore positioning and drilling guidance technology is used to assist the operator in better defining the trajectory of the wellbore and certain pieces of equipment in the well and to assist the driller in accurately drilling to a predetermined target. Today, Gyrodata is the leading supplier worldwide of precision wellbore survey services to the energy, mining, environmental and construction industries.

  1. Be an essential member of the Gyrodata production team tasked with manufacturing, repair, and maintenance of Gyrodata's precision navigation systems.
  2. As products move into and through production, you will be responsible for performing functional testing, routine, and non-routine testing of mechanical and electrical precision downhole oil well guidance equipment using defined and documented standards and procedures.

Essential Duties

  1. Perform functional and environmental testing of new and repaired production equipment including detailed documentation.
  2. Perform functional testing (including detailed documentation) of incoming field return equipment to determine appropriate level of maintenance/repair needed
  3. Perform basic maintenance and recertification activities on equipment as required.
  4. Learn all software applications used in the work center
  5. Comply with all workflow processes and guidelines established by the Production Group Lead
  6. Perform general work center duties, including inventory management, cleaning, labeling, and organizing and any other duties requested by the Production Team Lead
  7. Assist the Production Group Lead or Team Lead with asset control and inventory reporting.

HSE Function

  1. Cooperate with management in promoting, developing and maintaining a safe place of work and safe working practices, meeting all applicable health, safety and environmental requirements
  2. Report any work methods, equipment or conditions considered hazardous and submit suggestions to remedy the situation
  3. Drive defensively at all times observing posted speeds and traffic signs and adjust driving as needed to meet road conditions
  4. Report any accident or incident (including near misses) that could have caused injury, damage or loss of production
  5. Be aware of hazards in the shop; wear necessary safety clothing; use appropriate safety equipment; maintain equipment in clean and serviceable conditions; immediately report any faults

QA Function

  1. Comply with applicable quality assurance standards and maintain a safe working environment
  2. Report any accident or incident (including near misses) that could have caused damaged or loss of production, poor quality or increased repair costs

Required Qualifications

  1. Organized with high attention to detail and focused on quality
  2. Self-starter and a fast learner with the ability to manage time and focus in a fast paced environment
  3. Ability to record data and demonstrate good record-keeping skills.
  4. Ability to use basic hand tools and electronic equipment
  5. Ability to work non-office hours and weekends as necessary
  6. Communicate effectively in both oral and written forms to a variety of stakeholders
  7. Ability to use a computer for accessing and sending email, opening and revising documents, accessing internet and web-based Gyrodata, Inc. systems including SharePoint, HRIS and ability to use Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  8. High school diploma, GED, or regional equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Hands-on manufacturing plant experience with testing of electro-mechanical assemblies and other downhole oilfield equipment
  2. Downhole oilfield technology experience related to sensors and navigation
  3. Good understanding of manufacturing workflows and processes
  4. Familiarity with basic manufacturing quality control
  5. 2 year Associates Degree or Technical School Certificate

Working Conditions

  1. The job is performed in a shop or warehouse environment with some exposure to safety hazards, potentially including cold, heat, noise, machinery, electricity and chemicals that may require wearing protective equipment and compliance with specific safety protocols. The job requires physical exertion including sitting, standing, walking, lifting up to sixty (60) pounds, carrying, pushing, pulling, kneeling, squatting and a range of physical motion. The job requires operation of tools, machinery, equipment, computers and telephones. The job requires following written and oral instructions, attention to detail, ability to multitask, ability to work with others and ability to meet deadlines. The job requires following established policies and procedures, meeting quality and safety standards and regular attendance.
