It is how we connect and interact with our clients, business partners and fellow associates.Job SummaryThe Sr. Category Development Specialist will manage smaller categories and lead strategic projects for our category team. This includes pricing, smaller negotiations, and building relationships. Other duties include supporting assigned categories with analytics, coordinating, and achieving business objectives in managing the overall supplier relationship and aligning customer needs with commercial opportunities. Duties include working collaboratively with cross-functional teams and the supplier base within assigned categories, delivering insights and recommendations to drive category development process, and continuous management of categories through analysis, reporting, modelling and data mining. Responsibilities:Own the relationship with assigned vendorsNegotiate pricing Complete monthly budgeting for assigned vendors Work cross-functionally with Account Managers, Finance, Sourcing and others to execute supply chain projectsIndependently manage assigned projects. Develop tools and processes that drive value in contracting, conversion, and revenue generationSupport on day-to-day operations with:Ad hoc analysis, compliance reports, market trends, pricing and rebate databases, marketing/ communication opportunities and opportunity analysisDevelopment of category plans, joint business plans/reviews and presentation materials for key strategic supplier and customer partnershipsManaging the roll-out, implementation and communication of new programs or program changes/conversion initiatives adhering to company processes and timelinesBuild relationships with key suppliers, educate them on how to effectively interpret data and identify customer engagement opportunitiesProactively identify opportunities and make recommendations as they relate to contract coverage, conversion opportunities, pricing/volume allowance, new programs, and contractsDevelop and streamline team processes to maximize productivity and effectivenessPerform other duties as assigned Qualifications:3 years related experience required; experience with supplier management and procurement, executing defined projects, performing analytics and project management Bachelor's degree preferredExtremely Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)Ability to extract insights from complex data sets using advanced excel skillsProven problem-solving skills using deductive reasoning and identifying gaps in logicAn ability to manage several complex priorities with strict deadlines and an attention to detailHigh attention to detail and exceptional work qualityExceptional written and verbal communication skillsExperience utilizing reporting and accounting systemsWork independently as well as collaboratively in a team environmentOrganized and a high attention to detailCustomer service orientationApply to Foodbuy todayFoodbuy is a member of Compass Group USAClick here to Learn More about the Compass StoryCompass Group is an equal opportunity employer.
