Job Summary

The primary duty of this position is directly supporting category managers with developing and managing information to support business decision making by performing complex analyses and use the data analysis process to understand and interpret data-driven insights to enhance overall business practices. Duties include operational management support, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to manage and improve existing systems, and review of current supplier base within assigned categories, delivering insights and recommendations to drive category development process, and continuous management of categories through extensive analysis, and reporting.


Responsibilities:

  • Support on day-to-day operations with:
  • Automation of manual processes by using various techniques to support routine business analyses
  • Research best practices and supports developing solutions and recommendations for the current business operations
  • Creation of automated and dynamic dashboards for key business stakeholders and ability to articulate complex data sets
  • Correcting data issues from multiple data sources and ability to clearly articulate data findings
  • Ad hoc analysis, compliance reports, market trends, pricing and rebate databases, marketing/ communication opportunities and opportunity analysis
  • Development of category plans, joint business plans/reviews and presentation materials for key strategic supplier and customer partnerships
  • Managing the roll-out, implementation and communication of new programs or program changes/conversion initiatives adhering to company processes and timelines
  • Monthly income by supplier (IBS) forecasting preparation, variance analysis and tracking against budget
  • Conducting income analysis, forecast changes, or performing any other duties supporting category income drivers
  • Proactively identify opportunities and make recommendations as they relate to contract coverage, conversion opportunities, pricing/volume allowance, new programs, and contracts
  • Respond to call center queries and work with suppliers on issue resolution in a timely manner
  • Complete system data accuracy and maintenance - term set management, price releases, price audits, non-transactional, subscriptions, and catalogs
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Build relationships with key suppliers, educate them on how to effectively interpret data and identify customer engagement opportunities
  • Proactively identify opportunities and make recommendations as they relate to contract coverage, conversion opportunities, pricing/volume allowance, new programs, and contracts
  • Develop and streamline team processes to maximize productivity and effectiveness
  • Produce quality ad-hoc analyses, sometimes under tight deadlines, consulting with team members to build compelling, well-formatted analysis to bring to stakeholders
  • Collaborate effectively with various teams across the organization, including helping stakeholders identify the right questions to ask based on both our data capabilities and knowledge of how to best meet customer needs
  • Analyze reporting and compliance tools by developing business reviews, creating analytical assessments, establishing performance measurements, and developing variance analysis for customers
  • Adhere to and uphold the established SLAs, improving as needed, and balancing providing excellent service while challenging requests as appropriate
  • Identify trends and variances in the data that go beyond the needs of individual requests and projects


Qualifications:

  • 2 years’ related experience required in a supply chain function, finance, business administration, or statistics, performing analytics and project management
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Extremely Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
  • Highly developed technical, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven problem-solving skills using deductive reasoning and identifying gaps in logic
  • An ability to manage several complex priorities with strict deadlines and an attention to detail
  • Must be adaptable to change and thrive in a dynamic environment
  • Work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
  • Acute sense of urgency, excellent customer service skills and demeanor
  • Knowledge of purchasing practices and procedures
  • Collaborative and works well as a member of a team
  • Demonstrated ability to innovate processes and procedures
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and prioritization skills, deadline management, and requiring minimal direction on activities
  • Strong business acumen, with a proven ability to interpret analysis against business needs, as well as to spot anomalies in results
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including strong formatting of data in an easily-interpretable manner
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to details is a must and understanding of data integrity is key
  • Experience and understanding of how to handle extremely large volumes of dynamic data sets, from multiple sources
  • High attention to detail and the exercise of sound judgment and decision-making
