GWC ITALIA is Hiring a Painter Helper Near Bakersfield, CA

1. PRIMARY FUNCTION:
This employee is responsible for assisting the Painting Technician in the set-up and preparation of valves and related parts for final painting.

2. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Prepare surfaces to be painted by sanding or grinding.
  • Wash/clean the surface and stage prepared valves/components to be painted.
  • Assist with material handling (measurement, mixing) as needed.
  • Verify that paperwork is completed to this stage and information matches product.
  • Move painted items to drying area, unload painted items when dry.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

3. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Involve extended periods of standing, walking, bending, kneeling and reaching.
  • Regularly required to use hands, reach with hands and arms, sit, climb, talk or hear.
  • Lift and/or move objects: Regularly: 10-50lbs.; Occasionally: up to 100 lbs.

4. WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Often work in indoor environments that do not have heat or air conditioning.
  • May occasionally work outdoors.
  • Wear safety attire, such as safety glasses, safety gloves and other as applicable.
  • May be exposed to loud or distracting sounds or noise levels.

5. TOOLS, EQUIPMENT AND MACHINES:

  • Must be familiar with safety practices for equipment, lock-out/tag-out, and use of personnel protection equipment (PPE).

6. QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have at a minimum of a high school diploma or hold a GED certificate.
  • Related experience preferred, but not required.
  • A clear understanding of the use of manufacturing tools and equipment.
  • Must have understanding and strong working knowledge of manufacturing operations.
  • Must be able to read assembly blueprints/drawings and bills of materials.
  • Strong communications (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate to all levels within an organization.
