**$14.00-$16.25, Depending on experience**

**POSITION PURPOSE .**

The housekeeper positions exist as part of the Housekeeping team to maintain the physical environment of the facility to provide an attractive community for the seniors that choose to make Golden West their home. The housekeeping staff is responsible for the physical appearance and cleanliness of all public areas, the grounds, Mezzanine apartments and turnover apartments. **PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES**

* Work as a productive member of the Housekeeping team, maintaining a positive and professional attitude at all times and remain focused on the primary goal of the organization meeting resident expectations.

* Be prepared to begin work, well groomed, in appropriate dress and footwear, by the scheduled start time of each shift.

* Maintain an acceptable attendance record and work as scheduled. Record hours worked and take breaks as per Housekeeping and Golden West policies and procedures.

* Work efficiently to complete all job responsibilities, as per department procedures and scheduled times.

* Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Cleaning public area floors, walls and windows

Maintaining clean and sanitary public restrooms

Cleaning resident apartments

Cleaning and preparing turnover apartments for new resident

* Tasks include, but are not limited to:

Sweeping, vacuuming and mopping flooring

Cleaning toilets, sinks, bathtubs, showers

Washing windows, glass doors, walls and elevators doors

Emptying trash

Cleaning and disinfecting public area hard surfaces such as railings, door knobs, counter tops, etc.

* Be familiar with all equipment needed to complete job responsibilities and follow proper procedures and safety guidelines when using equipment.

* Be familiar with and follow all Golden West personnel and safety policies.

* Attend and participate in organization and department meetings, in-services and training sessions as scheduled by supervisor.* All other duties as assigned by supervisor.

**REQUIREMENTS**

- Maintain a positive attitude and take direction well

- Must have good English communication skills, verbal and written

- Must be able to lift 50 pounds, push and pull up to 100 lbs.

- Must be able to stand and/or walk for 60 minutes straight and be on feet, walking and standing for majority of each workday.

- Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, squat, climb stairs and ladders.

- Must be able to work independently (self-starter)
