DESCRIPTION: Responsible for the maintenance and repairs to all assigned tasks associated with plant stationary equipment and buildings, including all plant building maintenance, plant utility maintenance (water, electrical, sanitary, communication), sprinkler systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Necessary emergency repairs to all stationary equipment to minimize production disruption.
· Insist on safe work habits. Do not tolerate unsafe work practices. Responsible for the physical well being of assigned personnel.
· Perform repairs, maintenance or preventative maintenance as required in various areas from written maintenance requests and direction from leadership.
· Communicating any observed potential machine or part failures to the maintenance manager for scheduling.
· Recording of time and materials for all repairs and projects.
· Maintain security of Company assets (Equipment, tools, inventories, buildings)
HOUSEKEEPING
o All facilities to be maintained clean, neat, and orderly.
o All work areas to be picked up and cleaned when work is completed or at end of shift.
o Lubricants are to be treated as potential contaminants. Oil lubricant is to be used in a controlled manner, not sloppily applied so as to contaminate the area.
o Spillages and leaks are to receive immediate attention. Contaminants to be cleaned up by using sawdust to soak up. Soaked sawdust to be disposed of properly.
o Aquifer is to be protected and guarded at all times.
o All exceptions to be documented and reported on the “Material Spill Report”: Contaminant, Personnel involved, Disposition of contaminant and clean-up residue
PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE PROGRAM
* Key function is to minimize production downtime.
* PM is not only a “Grease and Oil” program, it includes careful inspection of the equipment components to ensure reliability during production hours.
* The successful PM program requires good documentation. A checklist of inspection items is necessary to ensure that no component is overlooked.
* Basic PM information is available from equipment guidelines, in addition to historical records.
PURCHASING AUTHORITY
o All purchases to be reviewed by the plant superintendent.
o Authorized limit $250.00. Any purchase over the limit must be approved by the plant superintendent.
o All purchases must be documented by means of purchase orders, to be submitted to the plant superintendent.
REPORTING
o Prompt reporting required

§ Daily – completed requisitions and workorders
· Immediate Supervisor – Maintenance Manager
SAFETY
· Utilization of proper and safe procedure to accomplish maintenance tasks without risk of personal injury or equipment damage.
· Lockout/Tagout- To be an advocate for LOTO safety.
· Arc flash training
· Hot work permits required before starting torching/welding/grinding
