As we continue to grow and help more individuals in their wellness journeys, we are looking for an IP Legal Assistant (In-Person role) who can interface with the law firms who are assisting us with preventing and stopping companies that are infringing and creating duplicates of our products while also sharing our passion for holistic well-being and is ready to contribute to our mission.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist attorneys with all phases of US patent prosecution including preparing and filing new US patent applications and related prosecution documents.
  • Assist attorneys with international PCT patent applications.
  • Prepare and file trademark documents at the USPTO.
  • Prepare instructions to foreign counsel for filing and prosecuting foreign patent and trademark applications.
  • Prepare and file applications and related documents at the US Copyright office.
  • Prepare and file litigation documents in federal court in connection with patent and trademark infringement and other IP disputes [desired, but not required].
  • Prepare client correspondence concerning patent and trademark matters and serve as liaison with in-house counsel.
  • Perform docketing and tracking for patent and trademark deadlines. Assist attorney in meeting deadlines.
  • Obtain certified copies of US patent and trademark applications and US assignments for foreign filings and obtain legalization of formal documents.
  • Review daily email communication.
  • Prepare and file legal papers re: USDC litigation filings for Patent/Trademark infringement and other IP disputes.
  • Electronically file documents with the USPTO.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2-3 years of minimum experience in all aspects of intellectual property, including domestic, international, and foreign patents and trademarks. Knowledge of all phases of US patent filing system.
  • High school diploma or GED; Associates/ Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Proficiency with all aspects of USPTO and international electronic filing & document retrieval systems (EFS/Public and Private PAIR/DOCX/EPAS/TEAS/TSDR/ETAS and WIPO/Espacenet).
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, FileSite system and CPI management software.
  • Strong internet navigation skills including using the Internet ISPTO, WIPO, California Secretary of State, LexisNexis Patent Optimizer, USDC websites and E-filing systems.
