Store Manager Job Duties:

• Completes store operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
• Maintains store staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
• Maintains store staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
• Achieves financial objectives by meeting budget goals; scheduling responsible expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
• Identifies current and future customer requirements by establishing rapport with potential and actual customers and other persons in a position to understand service requirements.
• Ensures availability of merchandise and services by approving orders; maintaining inventories.
• Formulates pricing policies by reviewing merchandising activities; determining additional needed sales promotion; authorizing clearance sales; studying trends.
• Markets merchandise by studying advertising, sales promotion, and display plans; analyzing operating and financial statements for profitability ratios.
• Secures merchandise by implementing security systems and measures.
• Protects employees and customers by providing a safe and clean store environment.
• Maintains the stability and reputation of the store by complying with legal requirements.
• Determines marketing strategy changes by reviewing operating and financial statements and departmental sales records.
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
• Maintains operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Consistent quality customer service ensuring a successful shopping experience.
• Merchandising and freight stocking.
• Upkeep and organization of department - including recovery.
• Product knowledge, load-outs are critical to the success of this position.
• Self - training assessments and evaluations.
• Other duties, as needed.
• Creates and maintains a safe environment for customers and employees.

Physical Demands:

• Standing for long periods of time
• Heavy and repetitive lifting (no more than 50 lbs)
• Bending, carrying, and pushing

Skill Set Requirements:

• Must be able to legally own a firearm
• Extensive knowledge of guns (types, calibers, actions etc.) and willingness to learn about them
• Ability to drive gun sales and related items
• Must adhere to all company safety rules and regulations
• Stay up to date on all firearm trends and hard goods
• Consultative sales approach (i.e. - no personal bias toward a particular manufacturer)
• Community driven and willing to work with groups and/or individuals to promote our store
• Strong communication (written, oral and interpersonal skills)
• Strong organizational skills
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Excel in a fast-paced, evolving work environment
• Familiar with standard concepts and practices within the retail environment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $36,000.00 - $46,000.00 per year
