Requirements:

To be seriously considered for this role, you’ll need to have:

  • Education: Minimum – graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Preferred – Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • Experience: Leadership experience within the last 2 years. Training and experience in OB Nursing. 
  • Licenses/Certification: RN License current in the state of Colorado or compact state.

Responsibilities:

As the Nursing Manager of Obstetrics and Nursery at Gunnison Valley Health, you will be responsible for the supervision of patient care, nursing staff and OB operations. While working collaboratively with the Nurse Leadership team, you will facilitate efficient clinical operations, staff development, and quality improvement in the Family Birth Center. You will utilize your unique skills and abilities by:

  • Leading participation in performance improvement work while developing the skills of care in the Obstetrics department.
  • Continually ensuring that patient satisfaction is maintained and improved.
  • Monitoring compliance with professional and departmental standards, policies, procedures and requirements of accreditation and regulatory agencies through inspection and observation of personnel practices.
  • Coaching and providing feedback including constructive critique of work and facilitation of individual development plans.
  • Providing ongoing education, coaching, and feedback to staff throughout the year.
  • Using your expertise in problem solving, decision making and communication when interacting with a variety of staff including leadership, medical, and support staff within other departments in the health system.

Physical Requirements
Occasionally (0-33%) - Reach across midline, crouching/squatting, stooping, stairs, pushing/pulling (20-50 lbs)
Frequently (34 – 66%) - Standing, walking, sitting, change position, reaching, handling, fingering, lifting (0-20 lbs)
Continuously (37 -100%) See with corrective eyewear, hear clearly with assistance

Shift - Will be part of an on-call schedule with a requirement to work a minimum of 4 on call shifts including weekends
Schedule - Days with call
Status - FT

Compensation: $44.07 - $63.90/hr, depending on experience.

**Current GVH employees transferring departments are not eligible for the Sign N Stay Bonus

Life and AD&D insurance: All active employees working 40 or more hours per pay period are eligible for benefits on the first of the month after hire date.
Short-term and long-term disability: All active employees working 60 or more hours per pay period are eligible for benefits on the first of the month after hire date.
