JOB DESCRIPTION: MILLWORK SHOP HELPER

SUMMARY: As a Millwork Shop Helper, you will play a crucial role in supporting the operations of our millwork shop.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  include the following: (other duties may be assigned)

• Demonstrate proficiency in using basic woodworking tools and equipment.
• Safely operate a forklift to transport materials within the warehouse (forklift operator experience preferred but not required).
• Lift and move heavy materials weighing 50 lbs or more as needed.
• Operate machinery to process materials from gang rip saw, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Transport lumber between warehouses to maintain inventory and facilitate production flow.
• Assist in setting up machinery for production runs, including adjustments and configurations.
• Inspect, sort, and bundle finished products according to quality standards.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: N/A

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or GED, minimum, is required.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:  The individual must have good working knowledge of building materials, experience operating a forklift, tape measure, and basic mathematical skills. Prior experience in woodworking or related field and basic knowledge of woodworking tools and equipment is preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Bilingual in Spanish and English is not a requirement, but is preferred.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS: Physical ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, sitting, or other activities necessary to perform job duties. Must be able to move large, bulky and/or heavy merchandise 50 plus pounds.
