Role and Responsibilities:

• Design, deploy, and manage both Cloud and Self-Hosted infrastructure resources and services
• Collaborate with internal teams to design infrastructure that meets functional requirements with emphasis on performance, scalability, and security.
• Monitor AWS and Datacenter environments for availability, performance, security vulnerabilities.
• Implement and enforce security best practices, including identity and access management (IAM), RBAC, encryption, and network security.
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues and outages in a timely manner.
• Create and maintain documentation for infrastructure and processes.
• Stay up to date with AWS and VMware best practices, products, and industry trends to continuously improve internal systems.
• Provide escalation support to internal technology staff as needed.
• Research, evaluate and report on emerging technologies and services.
• Assist in establishing standards for information systems procedures and technologies.

Position Requirements:

• Possess strong client-facing and communication skills (written and verbal).
• Experience reading, writing, and interpreting technical documentation and procedure manuals.
• Expert knowledge administering MacOS, Microsoft Windows Server, CentOS and Ubuntu systems.
• 5 years VMware administration experience.
• 5 years advanced networking experience (experience with Palo Alto a plus).
• Proven experience with systems planning, security principles, and general software management best practices.
• Proven experience designing, deploying, and managing AWS infrastructure in a production environment.
• Strong understanding of AWS services, including EC2, S3, VPC, RDS, IAM, Lambda, and more.
• Knowledge of infrastructure as code (IAC) tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Good project management skills.
• Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.

Educational & Professional Credentials

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience
• 7 years of Systems Engineering experience (server, network, virtualization, and cloud architecture)
• Professional certifications (e.g., A , Network , Security , MCSE, CCNA, VCP)
• AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator) are a plus.

Travel & Office Location

• Approximately 10% out-of-town travel to regional offices and/or data centers
• Systems Engineers work remotely or their regional office when not traveling
