The Financial Analyst; Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) supports GuideOne’s actual, budgeting, and forecasting financial planning and analysis function. Regularly engages in strategic financial conversations with the FP&A team members to provide financial outcomes and set key performance indicators measuring the financial health of the organization. This individual is responsible for supporting the preparation of financial plans and associated analytics that align with and support the business strategy across the organization. This role serves as the production SME for all segments and is responsible for ensuring the Finance data and FP&A team’s plan assumptions are accurate.
As the Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for the following:
· Develops corporate financial analysis, forecasting and business intelligence efforts to ensure efficient financial operations. Prepares consolidated analysis results and makes recommendations for effective financial planning, management and efficient expense management
· Supports the annual financial plan creation process. Assists in financial plan updates and projections on a regular basis throughout the year.
· Anticipates financial challenges and opportunities before the business impact is critical.
· Ensures appropriate reinsurance allocations across segments, niches and product lines, meets regularly with segment leaders to understand production expectations and actuals.
· Partners with the business to proactively identify and drive improvements in performance management. Positively impacts combined ratio and overall corporate results.
· Gathers and analyses qualitative and quantitative information impacting effective financial performance and efficiencies. Provides and supports appropriate financial benchmarking comparisons for competitive analysis and expense improvement efforts.
· Coordinates with the business to support premium audits for the various programs within the Programs segment; responsible for leading the financial portion of the audits.
· Prepares presentations, binders, inclusive of supporting documentation to FP&A management team, Senior Leadership Team and other key relationships.
· Ensures FP&A production data sources are in sync with financial reporting sources and has a strong understanding of the production metrics to help ensure accurate and consistent reporting is maintained.
· Performs other related work as assigned.
