GUIDEHOUSE is Hiring a Software Test Engineer Near Franklin, OH

What you will do:
- ?Design and implement manual and automated test cases based off of client/product owner requirements and system specifications
- Perform black box testing to ensure end user acceptance. This includes functional (smoke, integration, regression, etc.) and non-functional testing (security and performance)
- Participate in both ticket testing and full integrated system testing
- Create, edit, and maintain test documentation and release notes
- Collaborating with other team members and departments on test results
- Detail oriented, highly organized, and able to multitask
- Be a customer advocate by consistently meeting, exceeding expectations and incorporating customer service into all aspects of work.
What you will need:
- BA/BS Degree with at least 4-6 years of experience. In lieu of degree, 4 years of demonstrated experience is required
- Proficient (6 years experience) with testing web based applications including microservices and APIs
- Demonstrated proficiency (6 years experience) problem solving to determine root cause in failures
- Intermediate understanding (4 years experience) of Selenium or Browserstack or other similar automation testing tools
- Intermediate understanding (4 years experience) of command line use and testing within Linux
- Intermediate experience (4 years) working with various web or scientific data formats (Grib, NetCDF, XML, JSON, etc.)
- Ability to effectively communicate technical information such as test steps, expected results, and/or failures
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities effectively.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- U.S. Citizen or Green card is required for the position.
- Must successfully pass a Federal Background Investigation.
Would would be nice to have:
- Experience in the field of Meteorology
- Understanding of observational data visualization and/or meteorological forecasting tools
- Experience with change management and version control systems, such as Git.
- Experience working with JIRA and Confluence
The annual salary range for this position is $83,300.00-$125,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
