The Financial Management Consultant helps clients optimize all elements of their finance organization, including operating model design, sustainable cost reduction, financial planning and analysis, management reporting, financial systems architecture, and full-scale finance transformation.
Responsibilities:
Provide ongoing financial management support to Federal client in accordance with Federal financial management requirements
Support quantitative development of business case documentation (e.g., needs analysis, cost/benefit analysis)
Prepare, review, and reconcile various financial business documents (e.g., invoices, travel vouchers)
Identify and suggest process improvement opportunities
Develop work products that clearly synthesize information into recommendations for clients
Facilitate client meetings to gather data and understand client needs and desired outcomes
Prepare training materials and facilitate knowledge transfer to client stakeholders
Provide guidance, coaching, and quality assurance to junior staff
What You Will Need:
1 years of financial management experience, preferably within the public sector
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university with a major in any field that included or was supplemented by; at least 24 semester hours in any combination of the following fields: accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience in Federal consulting
Experience in internal control assessments
Experience working with Federal agencies
Knowledge of Federal financial management regulations, including the Treasury Financial Manual, Federal Financial Management Improvement Act (FFMIA), and OMB Circular A-123
Knowledge of Federal budget process
