Position: Nursing Director of Inpatient Services
Location: Los Alamos, NM
Who We Are:
Los Alamos Medical Center (LAMC) is a 47-bed acute care facility that provides medical services to the people of Los Alamos County and surrounding areas. A healthcare leader in Northern New Mexico, LAMC offers a host of services including 24-hour emergency care, imaging and laboratory services, women’s services, urology, orthopedics, oncology, pediatric and newborn care, and general and colorectal surgery. Los Alamos Medical Center is fully accredited by The Joint Commission and is an accredited Chest Pain Center by the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care (SCPC), the accrediting arm of the American College of Cardiology, which has recently achieved NQP Designation.
At 7,400 feet elevation, the Los Alamos townsite community is perched on mesa top “fingers” separated by rugged canyons. From downtown Los Alamos, you are a short walk or drive away from three national parks. In addition, skiing with lift service and snowboarding in the winter plus seasonal hiking and mountain biking inside the Pajarito Mountain Ski area is less than a 6-minute drive from downtown Los Alamos.

$30.000.00 Sign on Bonus
for a thirty-six (36) month commitment
OR $25,000.00 Sign on Bonus
for a twenty-four (24) month commitment

Job Summary:
  • The Inpatient Services Director directs the department's activities and resources to achieve departmental and organizational objectives.
  • Acts as Director over the Med Surg, ICU, OB, RT, and Nursing Administration units.
  • Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization. 
  • Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including: patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives.
 
Plans and monitors staffing activities, including:
  • Hiring
  • Orienting
  • Evaluating
  • Disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.
  • Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets, and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding. 
  • Coordinates and directs internal/external audits. 
  • Ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements. 
  • Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.
  • Integrates evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols.
Must Haves:
  • Current NM RN licensure, or appropriate RN compact licensure to start. 
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field of discipline.
  • Current BLS and ACLS upon hire.
  • Must obtain PALS/ENPC and NRP within six (6) months from hire.
  • At least three (3) years of significant Leadership Experience, preferably director-level experience.
Compensation:
  • Base compensation will be commensurate with the experience and skill set of the candidate.

  • Opportunity up to $30,000 bonus
