The Purpose of the Position:

The Field Service Technician will represent Güdel at Customer facilities executing installation, troubleshooting, rebuild, supervision, and/or preventative maintenance activities to optimize our customers processes and machinery.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and improve the production performance of Güdel equipment throughout the installed base
• Install, test, and commission Gudel equipment
• Use of tools, measurement & test equipment as dictated by the specific equipment and situation
• Perform professional preventive maintenance and provide service to our customers; analyze the condition of installed systems and rectify faults; detect potential problem to prevent production stoppages
• Partner with Project Managers, Engineering and Customers to coordinate maintenance, installations and repairs
• Perform and document detailed service reports and expense reports accurately and in a timely manner
• Able to support On-Call line for customers on a rotational weekly basis
• Provide information to Support Quotations for customers

Required Education, Training & Experience

• High school diploma plus two additional years of related technical training
• A minimum 4 years with hands on experience in electrical / mechanical repair or servicing industrial equipment
• Proficient reading, oral, and written English language skills
• Must have a valid driver’s license

Preferred Education, Training & Experience:

• Proficient reading, oral, and written Spanish (Mexico) or French (Canada) language preferred
• Microsoft Office Suite, and other PC-based industrial automation software tools

• Excellent written, verbal communication and active listening skills
• Ability to perform mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic installation and build of Güdel equipment
• Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism in stressful environments
• Ability to work unsupervised and on varying shifts
• Ability to organize several tasks according to importance and sequence steps to insure timely work completion
• Ability to follow all applicable safety requirements and other Güdel procedures and policies
• Professional and positive approach, self-motivated, strong relationship building skills and team player
• Ability to travel up to 75% of the time and work a flexible work schedule

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Ability to effectively lead/supervise contract labor during installations or as needed
