Guardian Systems is Hiring a Lead Fire Alarm Technician Near Smyrna, TN

We are currently seeking experienced Commercial Fire Alarm & Low Voltage Technicians to join our team! You will be working on Commercial construction projects. The candidate we are looking for would be responsible for installing & troubleshooting fire alarm systems, but should also know Access, CCTV, and burg. Knowledge of Firelite, Napco, Honeywell, Geovision, HID is a plus.

Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of how an fire alarm system works
  • Experience with Alarm panels such as: Ademco, GE, DSC, DMP, Firelite and others
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical problems
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Good driving record Valid driver’s license (License is mandatory where required)

Customers interaction: Replace system components as assigned; panels, peripheral devices, audible/visual alarms, etc.

  • Driving to customer locations to perform installations and service. Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing; frequent stops, kneeling, crouching and/or crawling.
  • Customer education, training including a system demonstration.
  • Conduct a thorough walkthrough/site evaluation with the customer to review work orders to make sure the system meets their needs and expectations.
  • Install and test the operations of all equipment to ensure proper functionality and signal verification required to establish service.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the use and functionality of the customers' system and provide those recommendations.
  • Maintain safety practices to prevent injury and damage to property.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace/job site, ensuring customers satisfaction after the interaction.
  • Diagnose causes of problems or failures in systems for the purpose of identifying equipment and systems repair.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with Fire Alarm systems required
  • Have in depth knowledge of fire alarm systems operation, functions, and wiring requirements
  • Understands cable types and technologies and can distinguish which types to use in installation scenarios
  • Understanding of material types used in residential construction and standards for drilling/running low voltage wiring
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within standard accepted practices.
  • Ability to work in a clean and unobtrusive manner
  • Must have or be willing to obtain basic tools to perform job responsibilities.
  • Must be able to clear a background check and drug screening
  • Clear MVR required
  • Technical or Vocational related schooling is a plus

Pay: From $30.00 per hour
