Summary:
We are searching for a punctual, reliable, and dependable Steel Mill Maintenance Professional for third shift to join our maintenance team. You will be responsible for keeping all equipment in good running condition. Must be able to clearly communicate to supervisors and managers regarding potential problems or areas of concern.
Position: Steel Mill Maintenance (Full Time)
Salary: $20.00/hr. - $24.00/hr. (Based on Experience)
Shift: 3rd Shift - 7:00 pm - 5:30 am (Monday-Saturday)

Essential Duties:
Observes mechanical operation in the mill to determine efficiency and detect problems
Supports the mill with daily inspections (walk-through), documenting/reporting issues, and providing a quick response to all maintenance needs in the event of any unexpected downtime
Rebuild and sustain critical mill-based parts such as pinions, gearboxes, cylinders both pneumatic and hydraulic, rollers, bearings, shafts, and misc. parts
Open communication with the warehouse to ensure all rebuild parts such as seals, rings, cups, bearings, packing, pins, gears/sprockets, and any and all other parts
Read work orders and specifications to determine if machines and equipment require repair or maintenance
Inspect or test damaged machine parts, mark defective areas, and advise supervisors of repair needs
Reassemble machines after the completion of repair and or maintenance work
Dismantle machines and remove parts for repair, using hand tools, chain falls, jacks, cranes, or hoists
Install, replace, or change machine parts and attachments, according to production specifications
Collaborate with other workers to repair or move machines, machine parts, or equipment
Inventory and requisition machine parts, equipment, and other supplies so that stock can be maintained and replenished
Record production, repair, and machine maintenance information
Set up and operate machines, and adjust controls to regulate operations
Flexible to support other areas of maintenance within the company as needed
Qualifications and Experience:
Must have experience working on a rolling mill, or mechanical equivalent
Related on-the-job experience (Vocational School or associate’s degree a strong plus)
Knowledge and ability to use hand and power tools
Knowledgeable in proper alignment of bearings and other precision components
Welding is a strong plus
Basic electrical abilities 110- 220- and 480-volt systems
Knowledgeable in Hydraulic and pneumatic operating systems and components
Lockout/Tag out
Critical Thinking, using logic and reasoning
Alternative solutions, conclusions, and approaches to problems
Judgment and Decision making, considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the appropriate one
Troubleshooting, ability to determine causes and appropriate way forward
Physical Requirements:
Ability to use hands and arms in handling, positioning, and moving materials
Ability to stand for long periods of time
Ability to bend, twist, walk, lift, and turn
Ability to lift up to 50lbs
PPE required
Working Conditions:
Exposed to hazardous equipment (overhead cranes & forklifts)
Exposed to outside elements, building with an open door
