Clinical Supervisor

Department: Substance Use Outpatient Treatment Services

Reports to: Vice President Health & Human Services

Supervises: 1-4

FLSA Status: Exempt

Summary: The Clinical Supervisor's responsibilities are to provide clinical oversight of the Substance Use Outpatient Treatment Program including directing and managing an effective day-to-day operation, and providing supervision for the program/program staff. Additionally, the Clinical Supervisor will be responsible for coordinating and/or providing individual and group counseling activities. 

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Provide oversight for day-to-day program operation
  • Provide supervision for program staff and assist in their development of knowledge and skills
  • Provides oversight for various contracts and funding streams that support the program
  • Provide screenings, assessments, evaluations, education, and/or treatment
  • Coordinates weekly individual client and group sessions
  • Provides case management and community support services 
  • Develop, implements, review, and update individualized client treatment plans
  • Maintains updated progress notes/client files in accordance with the Department of Mental Health
  • Collect, maintain, and document units of services for billing purposes
  • Completes required billing reports for reimbursement from various contracts and funding streams
  • Assists in community outreach to increase awareness regarding program services
  • Refers clients to other support services as needed, such as medical evaluation and treatment, social services, and employment services
  • Attends staff meetings, state and in-service training; leads team meetings as required 
  • Collaborates with other agency program staff to enhance client progress and treatment outcomes
  • Participates in professional organizations/associations that enhance visibility in the treatment community
  • Oversees data input in Management Information System CCL. 
  • Meet with program diagnostician as needed 
  • Adherence to all program policies, procedures, and federal guidelines relevant to client rights and confidentiality
  • Adhere to all regulations set forth by the Department of Mental Health, Division of Drug and Alcohol
  • Maintains State Certification and current knowledge based on counseling issues regarding substance abuse and other psychosocial disorders through conferences, educational requirements for licensure, and the applicable literature
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned and within the scope of the job.

Qualifications

  • State-certified counselor at CRADC level with the State of Missouri 
  • Applicable degree accepted by the Missouri Credentialing Board required
  • Five years of experience in substance use treatment or a related field required
  • Knowledge and demonstrated skills in a variety of counseling modalities and chemical dependency
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
  • Strong knowledge of addiction, treatment, and recovery
  • Positive attitude and open approach to clients and staff
  • Bilingual English-Spanish (oral and written) required
  • Medium to Expert level in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Google docs, google sheets, etc.
  • Maintain a high degree of professional standards and ethics in all personal and professional interactions with clients, their family members, agency staff/volunteers, community agencies, courts, and other treatment programs
  • Knowledge of management information systems, i.e., Carelink
  • Knowledge of basic accounting and/or budget preparation
  • Ability to work in a non-judgmental way with a diverse range of people maintaining a respectful and inclusive culture.

Working Conditions:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

This job's specific vision abilities include close vision, such as the ability to read handwritten or typed material and the ability to adjust focus. The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from several people and interact with other staff. The employee must stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. This job requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 15 pounds.
