Position Title : Electronic Maintenance Technician

Naval Construction Group TWO (NCG2) provides Maintenance and Material Management (3M) Technician Maintenance and User Operational Support Services to units under the NCG2 Commander.

This includes Command Communications Computers and Intelligence (C4I) Maintenance Technicians to support the systems and supporting equipment.

The 3M Electronic Maintenance Technician supports daily work center day to day operations by performing 3M maintenance work, answering phone calls, emails, and or attending meetings and assisting subordinate units with guidance on communications equipment maintenance.

Technicians also develop and submit feedback and reports, and support technician maintenance and user operational support services performed in a classroom environment in the Electronic Maintenance Shop.

Location : Gulfport, MS

Security Clearance Level : Secret or Interim Secret

Duties and Responsibilities

• Meet with Equipment Work Center Supervisor (WCS) to update the equipment status.
• Perform necessary 3M maintenance actions on all applicable equipment and access SKED and assist WCS to document accomplishment / non-accomplishment of all 3M maintenance requirements.
• Read, interpret and ensure compliance with publications, instructions, notices, local directives and changes in accordance with 3M.
• Review, verify, and approve weekly reports originated within the Work Center and review all reports and provide feedback to subordinate units.
• Perform necessary 3M for Test Equipment Maintenance.
• Schedule PMS checks and verify all completed PM, generate Summary Report and verify against PMS Performance Report and ensure equipment is cycled properly in support of all PM requirements.
• Review maintenance and repair cost estimates.
• Prepare standard operating procedures (SOP) and audit PMS manuals and FBR's and provide WC to WCS.
• Assist updating OMMS-NG when new equipment and attachments are added / removed and update SKED / OMMS-NG for PMs, interim repairs, order parts, write jobs, and closing of work candidates.
• Provide technical logistic assistance to deploy or homeport units as required or requested.
• Provide "Help Desk" type services to NCF units / 3M Coordinators and assistants in the areas of 3M administration and management.

Provide reports on help desk activity to higher authority Naval Construction Group (NCG) / Naval Expeditionary Combat Command (NECC) as required.

• Assists in resolving problems encountered with Automated Shore Interface (ASI) processing, SKED use, Current Ship's Maintenance Project (CSMP) review / maintenance, Technical Feedback Report (TFBR) preparation / submission, etc.
• Maintain liaison with subject matter experts at various commands to keep abreast of 3M practices, policies, and problems.
• Participate in 3M reviews or assessments as necessary for CONUS and OCONUS SEABEE deployments.
• Ensure materials, procedures, policies are always coordinated and suitable for periods of instructions whether indoor or outdoor classroom environment and ensure users are knowledgeable of potential dangers from equipment and field hazards.
• Train and assist other information technician and or communications students in a professional manner and assist in the development of new or revised training or testing materials for formal course use in support of 3M.

Knowledge and Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or General Education Equivalent.
• Four (4) years of experience in 3M workstation and user operator experience / expertise for tactical communications equipment.
• Technical Writer / Operator expertise in tactical communications equipment.
• Four (4) years of experience in understanding Technical Manuals, Communication Information System Manuals, Tactical Communication Manuals, and directives or instructions and procedures.
• Three (3) years of experience in managing multiple priorities, meet deadlines, exercise initiative in gathering, assembling, collate, and analyzing information for completion of projects.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team with a minimum of three (3) years of experience in customer service.
• Sufficient knowledge, skill, and experience in maintaining and operating and performing Level I & II 3M maintenance on tactical radio systems.
• Ability to perform duties in inclement weather during field exercise training.
• Must be able to lift 35 pounds.
• Expect prolonged periods of standing, bending, and moving.
• U.S. Navy Electronics Technician (ET) Veteran, preferred.
