GS Medical is a multi-specialty primary care practice located in Passaic, NJ. We are seeking a Medical Assistant who is responsible. Our practice is committed to high quality patient care and excellent customer service. We are looking for a personable, hardworking individual with a positive attitude and a passion for helping others. Our ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to work well with others in a busy medical office. This position will require working primarily with patients, but also with some providers. The hours for this position are Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting providers with examinations, procedures, medications and other medical procedures.
• Answering phones and scheduling appointments.
• Taking patient histories.
• Ordering and stocking medications, supplies and diagnostic testing supplies.
• Preparing patient charts for provider meetings.
• Communicating with patients and providers regarding results of tests and procedures.
• Documenting all activities in patient records according to company policies and procedures.

Skills:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. This position requires excellent communication skills to effectively communicate with patients, providers, and other staff members.
• Strong organizational skills are necessary to maintain stock inventory, maintain medical records and perform administrative tasks such as scheduling and billing.
• Familiarity with medical software applications (Excel, Word) is required for this position.
