Grunau is Hiring a Sheet Metal Shop Floor Lead Near Oak, WI

The Grunau team is seeking a Sheet Metal Shop Lead to join the team to assist the sheet metal shop foreman with leading shop operations on fabrication floor and in the sheet metal shop office. The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure safe, high quality, on-time sheet metal fabrication for installation on construction and service projects.

Responsibilities:

Assist shop foreman with supervision of sheet metal labor force.
Develop and train employees on equipment and processes within sheet metal shop.
Fabricate in shop; be knowledgeable on all shop equipment and processes.
Schedule shop labor to ensure on time delivery to field leaders.
Support shop foreman’s aggressive approach to labor efficiency and continuous improvement.
Schedule equipment repairs and maintenance for shop equipment.
Enter fittings into computer via Cam Duct and Fabrication MEP as needed to support shop foreman.
Assist warehouse manager as needed with shipping / receiving and operating warehouse forklift to load completed product for delivery.
Back-up shop foreman as needed.
Duties as assigned by shop foreman and company leadership.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED
Local 18 union sheet metal worker in good standing
Certified forklift operation or willingness to get trained & certified in forklift operations
Strong leadership skills and a continuous improvement mindset
Excellent working knowledge of sheet metal equipment use and maintenance
Proficient in using Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Blue Beam
Excellent communication skills
Deep understanding and commitment to internal customer service (i.e. project managers, service team, construction team)
Deep understanding and commitment to quality, safety and productivity
Strong understanding of sheet metal pre-fabrication and a willingness to work closely with field foremen and project managers
Willingness to listen to others' ideas and the humility to recognize the best ideas help the company win, which in turn provides opportunity to succeed as a team
Appetite to learn and grow in other areas of construction and service

Pay Range: Pay follows union scale, depends on level of education and experience
