Pesticide/ Spray Technician

Qualifications •The Spray Technician must have at least one year of experience, and a Private Applicators Certificate. •Must have experience in a “hands-on” environment and the ability to perform multiple tasks and meet deadlines. •Be able to read, write and speak English and the ability to communicate in Spanish. •Good oral and written communication skills •Have the ability to learn and identify common ornamentals and their pests’ problems .Able to drive a tractor, use and maintain various types of spray application equipment in clean and safe condition at all times. Ability to pass a respirator fit test. | Responsibilities •The role of the Spray Technician is to safely apply pesticides according to the County of San Diego and State of California guidelines utilizing labels and OM’s recommendations and exhibit the highest efficiency and production standards possible •Performs job functions timely and efficiently •Uphold and promote and exceed all standards of safety as described or required in OSHA and CDPR regulations. •Responsible for preparing and maintaining Pesticide Usage Reports. •Responsible for implementing the Safe and Proper application of Pesticides. •Responsible for controlling diseases, pests, and weeds, in a wide range of container grown ornamentals |
